It’s Been a Really Long Time

Filed under: General — Kyndra @ 7:45 am

Since the last time I blogged. I’ve been travelling, planning my baby sister’s wedding, moving, and much much more.

In good news: Cooking From Your Patio is now available electronically from Booklocker.com. I’m very excited about this placement and am looking forward to hearing from people who have purchased the book and used it to garden and cook.

This weekend I will be teaching a class on “garden art” at the 17th Street Farmers’ Market in Richmond. I will also be teaching classes or workshops at one of the local cafe’s this summer.

Happy Gardening!

On the Road

Yup, I’m traveling this week and most of next week too. So this may be a little random for a few days.

I thought I’d offer a few pointers for keeping your potted plants alive while you are traveling:

For pots that are outside move them out into the yard where they can get rain but still receive shade to keep them from drying out. Make sure they are not in a position where rain coming off the roof will pound them into the dirt.

For plants indoors (or if the long term forecast doesn’t indicate rain) water the plants well and make sure the dished under them are full. Then dampen a piece of newspaper and lay it over the soil but not touching the stem of the plant.

The damp paper will help slow evaporation.

If you are going to be gone for more than a week ask the neighbors to water your pots and your garden.
